i relapsed tonight... it was bound to happen eventually, though i did not think it would be so soon...3 weeks is not really a respectable relapse point... but the thing you have to understand is that for the last 5 years, alcohol has been there for me when no one else has been... yes, i know this is only an excuse, but it is going to take some time to do this whole sober thing, and there is no one to help me with it- just me...
but i will do it.

I understand that about alcohol being there when no one else has.
It took me trying to stop drinking from August of 1998 to December 1998 to finally stop drinking. I'd quit for a few days, something stressful would happen or whatever and I'd drink again. Then stop and drink again.
Eventually, I stopped. But there is something about that "one day at a time" saying, no matter how cheesy it is. I did use that a lot. I just won't drink today, sometimes almost chanting it.
babs and i both belong to the club of xdrunks...she's right the one day at a time thing as stupid or corny as it sounds..really does work..if you sit down at the table and say..i am never going to drink anything ever again, for the rest of my life..well, fuck...you'll never make it..you'll flip out..but if you sit down at that table and say..i will not drink today....and go from there..you will be surprised how much better it will be..and if you need me...you can call me...anytime..ever...

Ahhh... the "i see you" thing is meant to creep out people such as my sis-in-law that reads my blog sometimes and I made clear to her she was not welcome to read it. And she does it sometimes anyway. That thing really doesn't monitor anything. It's the hidden counters that you really should worry about... muwhahaahhaha
well, the first article of ice pack clothing JS and I were discussing was an under the breast ice pack!! Still interested??
